Labels are a flexible way to organize and group creators and social profiles across Archive. This is the hub for managing them: adding, removing, renaming, merging, and deleting.
Adding and removing a label happen wherever the creator or content is. Renaming, merging and deleting a label happen in one place — Settings › Creator Labels — and apply to every creator already carrying it.
Adding Labels
Add a label to a creator, social profile, or content item — either by selecting an existing label or typing a new name and creating it on the spot. On the Creators page, click the Set Creator Labels field next to a creator, then pick an existing label or choose Create: {label name}. Full steps for each surface:

Removing Labels
Remove a label from a creator, social profile, or content item by clicking the applied label to deselect it. See Removing Labels for the steps on each page.
📋 Note: Removing a label from a creator does not delete the label from your workspace. It remains available to apply to other creators.
Renaming and Merging Labels
In Settings › Creator Labels, click the ••• menu on the label's row and choose Rename. Type the new name and save. Archive then checks whether that name is already in use, and the confirmation you get depends on the answer.
The name is free. The confirmation reads "This renames the label on N creators." Accept it with Rename label, and the new spelling reaches every creator and social profile that carried the old one.
The name already exists. The same action becomes a merge, and the confirmation says so: "“{name}” already exists" and "This moves N creators onto it and removes “{old name}”." Accept it with Merge labels.
There is no separate Merge button. Merging is what renaming does when the name you type is one you already have — which is also why the confirmation step matters: it is where you find out which of the two is about to happen.
🚨 Merging cannot be undone. The two labels cannot be separated afterwards. Read the confirmation before accepting it — if it says "Merge labels" rather than "Rename label", the name you typed already exists.
Deleting a Label
In Settings › Creator Labels, click the ••• menu on the label's row and choose Delete. The confirmation shows how many creators it will come off — "This removes the label from N creators." — and Delete label applies it. See Deleting a Label from Your Workspace for what to check first.
⚠️ Caution: Deleting a label removes it from every creator and social profile it has been applied to, and it cannot be undone. The creators themselves are not affected.
How These Changes Are Applied
Rename, merge and delete do not take effect instantly. Each one is queued and runs in the background, and a confirmation appears with a View in Operations Center link so you can follow it to completion.
Changes take a moment to appear everywhere. A label applied to tens of thousands of creators can take hours to finish, and it may still show in filters until the job completes.
One label at a time. There is no multi-select for renaming or deleting labels in bulk.
