Archive's 'Usage Rights' feature lets you request content usage rights directly from Social Profiles within your Archive dashboard. This revolutionary feature simplifies the process, making it easier and quicker to repurpose content for your brand marketing campaigns while staying compliant with copyrights. Let's delve into how you can make the most of this feature.
Note: Requesting usage rights typically grants permission to use on all digital media, unless specified otherwise. You can customize the message to reflect the specific rights you need and move the conversation from there.
However, please note that the feature is designed for tracking purposes and that Archive does not provide legal counsel or guarantees regarding usage rights.
Requesting Usage Rights
Find the Social Profile content you want to repurpose within the app. Once you've identified the content, click "Request Usage Rights".
A new window will open at the right corner of your screen that allows you to personalize your message. Here, you can go over your request, explaining why you want to use the content and how it will be used. Click "Save as Default Message" to make it your default message whenever you request Usage Rights. On the right portion of the page, you will also see what it looks like on the Influencer’s side. You have to ensure the "Usage rights" option is enabled.
Once you have personalized your message, click "Send Request". Your request will be sent directly from your brand's Instagram account.
Reminder: Due to Instagram's policies, we can only message the influencer on your behalf if they have sent you a DM in the last 24 hours. Otherwise, your request will be "In Queue," and it will be sent when once you send a dm to the creator or the creator sends you a message. You can always skip the queue, but you'll need to go ahead and send the request manually. Go to your Manage Rights page and click on "Send DM Request". If you're sending a request to a creator you haven't talked to within 24 hours, you'll see the "Add to Queue" button instead of the "Send Request" button.
Sending Usage Rights Manually
To skip the queue, you can manually send your request.
Navigate to your "Manage Rights" page.
Choose the UGC you want to send a request manually.
Click on "Message" to copy the link and message.
Go to the creator's Instagram profile and send a dm to them containing the message and link you just copied.
Managing Your Usage Rights Requests
Your Archive dashboard allows you to easily monitor the status of your usage rights requests. Head to your Manage Rights page:
