How Much Historical Content Does Archive Collect for Me?

How much historical content Archive pulls when you connect accounts or add hashtags.

Written by Anne Buzzi

This article explains how Archive will handle the new Instagram and TikTok connections and hashtags that you have set up.

1. How much content will appear when I connect my Instagram account?

During the onboarding phase, one of the steps involves you informing us of the Instagram handle you intend to connect. This step does not require immediate validation; it simply allows us to start displaying some content in your library before your Instagram account is officially connected. At this stage, we will only add Feed and Reel posts to your library, limited to a maximum of 100 posts and covering the past two years.

2. How much content will appear when I connect my Instagram account?

When you connect your Instagram account to Archive, detection starts from that moment forward. We begin capturing new posts where your brand is @mentioned as they go live. No past content is pulled in automatically.

If you want content that was already posted before you connected — for example, past posts where your brand was tagged — you can request an explicit historical pull. Content pulled this way is added now and counted toward this month's UGC limit, regardless of when it was originally posted.

We can't display Instagram Stories that already expired (Stories only last 24 hours on Instagram). Going forward, we automatically capture every Story your brand is mentioned in.

3. How much content will appear when I start tracking an Instagram hashtag?

When you start tracking a new hashtag, detection starts from that moment forward. We begin capturing new posts that use the hashtag as they go live. No past posts are pulled in automatically.

Past posts that already used the hashtag can be added through an explicit historical pull. Content pulled this way is added now and counted toward this month's UGC limit.

4. How much content will appear when I connect my TikTok account?

When you connect your TikTok account, detection starts from that moment forward. We capture new content as creators post it — no past content is pulled in automatically.

5. How much content will appear when tracking a TikTok hashtag?

When you start tracking a TikTok hashtag, detection starts from that moment forward. Past TikTok content that used the hashtag is not pulled in automatically.

How to pull past content in

There are two customer-facing paths to bring in content that was posted before a source was set up:

  • Add & Label Social Profiles drawer — when detection is on, Archive shows: "Content these profiles already posted that matches your tracked hashtags or mentions will be added now and counted toward this month's UGC limit."

  • Creator Monitoring campaigns — set a start date in the past when creating the campaign. Archive shows: "A start date in the past pulls content these creators already posted. It is added now and counts toward this month's UGC limit."

For anything outside these paths, contact your Customer Success Manager to request a historical pull. See How to Request a Historical Content Pull.

⚠️ Historical pulls count against the current month. Content added through an explicit historical pull is charged against the UGC limit of the month it enters Archive — not the month it was originally posted.

Note: We are actively engaged in refining our ability to detect collaboration posts for TikTok content. Rest assured, improvements are underway.
