Applying relative date filters allows you to dynamically view content based on time periods relative to the current date. Currently, this filter is exclusively available for Content and Social Profiles in Social Listening.

  1. Open the Social Listening database where you want to apply the filter.

  2. Click on the 'Post date' filter option.

  3. Select "is relative to today" from the dropdown menu.

  4. Choose between "This", "Past", or "Next" options to set your relative timeframe.

Understanding Relative Date Options

The relative date filter provides three main options:

  • This → Selects the current ongoing period, including today (week, month, or year).

  • Past → Selects a fixed range going back from today (rolling window).

  • Next → Selects a fixed range going forward from today (rolling window).

For example, if today is April 15:

  • This Month would select April 1 → April 30

  • Past 3 days would select April 12 (beginning of day) → April 15 (end of day)

  • Next 3 days would select April 15 (beginning of day) → April 18 (end of day)

For "Past" and "Next" options, you can specify the number and choose between days, weeks, months, or years to customize your date range precisely. ‍

Ways You Can Use Relative Date Filters

Relative date filters offer several practical applications:

  • Track trending content: Easily monitor which content is performing best on a daily or weekly basis.

  • Social media analysis: Analyze engagement patterns across specific timeframes without updating your filters constantly.

  • Campaign monitoring: Keep tabs on current campaigns with automatically updating date ranges that stay relevant. ‍
