What types of user-generated content does Archive collect?

Archive automatically detects user-generated content from Instagram and TikTok. The way we detect each content type varies slightly to keep your library as relevant as possible; here’s what you need to know:

  • Instagram Stories: We can only capture Instagram Stories that @mention your brand account if they trigger a direct message (DM) to your brand account.

    • How to verify if we can track a story: Check your Instagram Direct Messages. If you received a DM from the person who mentioned you in their story, we can track it. If there's no DM, we cannot capture that story.

    • What we cannot track:

      • Reshared Reel and Feed Posts without an official @mention

      • Any story mentions that don't generate a DM to your account

    • Key point: The DM notification is the trigger that allows us to capture the story mention. No DM = no tracking capability, even if the story appears in other Instagram features like "Stories About You."

  • Instagram Feed Posts: We’ll detect single images, videos, and carousels when your brand account is tagged with an @mention on the post itself or in the caption. Feed Posts that use #hashtags you’re tracking anywhere (including in captions and comments) will also be shown to your library. Just so you know, we don't capture any Feed posts reposted as stories unless they officially @mentioned you.

  • Instagram Reels: We'll detect Reels when your brand account is tagged with an @mention in the post or caption. We don't capture tags from the comments section or Reels reposted as stories (unless they include an official @mention). If a Reel isn't being detected, the influencer can be added as a source instead. Note that mentions in captions only work when your Instagram account is connected to Archive.

  • TikTok Videos: If your brand account is @mentioned or includes a hashtag you're tracking in a TikTok video. We can detect 90% of TikTok posts.

  • YouTube Videos: We can detect All Content from specific creators and track keywords used by the creator. However, you'll need to send our team a request so we can add the creators and keywords to your workspace.

Important Notes:

  • We have a limitation when it comes to capturing hashtags. We can't guarantee a 100% detection rate in all cases.

  • For optimal content collection, ensure your social accounts are properly connected following our connection guides

  • Content detection typically begins after you've completed the account connection process

Notes:

  • The only type of posts we can get from private accounts are stories. As long as your Instagram is connected to Archive, the influencer account mentions your brand in their stories, and you have visibility. To have visibility, you would need to follow their account already. If your IG account has access to it, we will also have. But you have to make sure your Instagram account is connected to Archive.

Unfortunately, we cannot get the other posts because our search method operates outside your account; this process runs independently.

  • If you have a non-verified source, we can only pull in posts where the brand is properly tagged because there’s no direct integration in place, and we’re relying on non-verified mention sources. This means we can’t capture posts that mention the brand only in the caption and any story mentions.

  • For Stories, we can only capture content that your brand gets tagged in. We can't capture if you're tagging your creators. Example:
