π Available on: Startup, Growth, Enterprise, Agency, and Custom plans. Some older deprecated legacy plans may not include Post Summaries β contact Archive Support if you don't see them in your workspace.
Post Summaries use AI to automatically generate concise descriptions of your user-generated content. Instead of watching every video or reviewing each post manually, you can read a quick summary to understand what the content is about.
How Post Summaries Work
Post Summaries appear as a Magic Field labeled Post Summary in the side panel of the UGC modal. When you open any piece of content, an AI-generated summary of up to 200 words is shown.
Summaries are generated automatically as soon as a piece of content is captured by Archive. No setup or manual trigger is required.
What Post Summaries Include
The post type and format (Reel, Story, TikTok video, carousel, image, etc.)
Main actions and scenes in the content
Brand mentions, product details, and any promotional content
Key information from captions and (when available) video transcripts
Relevant hashtags and campaign tags
Supported Content Types
Post Summaries are generated for all content types that Archive captures β including images, carousels, videos, Reels, Stories, TikToks, and YouTube videos and Shorts.
Summaries do not require a transcription. When transcription is available, it is used to enrich the summary; when it is not, the summary is generated from other available signals (caption, hashtags, post type, platform, location, and the media itself).
Post Summaries are supported for content from Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.
Accessing Post Summaries
Open the UGC modal for any piece of content.
Look in the side panel for the Magic Field labeled Post Summary.
Select and copy the summary text if you need to use it elsewhere.
When a Post Summary May Be Missing
In a small number of cases, the AI cannot generate a summary for a specific piece of content. When this happens, the Post Summary field now displays an error message inline (and as a tooltip) so you can see why. Common reasons:
Video file exceeds the size limit β videos larger than 100 MB cannot currently be processed by the AI summarizer. This is the most common cause of missing summaries.
Plan does not include the feature β some older deprecated legacy plans do not include the AI Post Summary feature. Newer plans (2026) all include it.
Providing Feedback
You can help improve Post Summaries by clicking the ? beside Post Summary and using the thumbs-up or thumbs-down buttons next to each summary. This feedback helps Archive refine the quality of future summaries.
Common Questions
Do image-only posts get a Post Summary?
Yes. Post Summaries are generated for all content types, including image-only posts. The summary is generated from the visual content along with the caption, hashtags, and other metadata β transcription is not required.
Why is one of my video posts missing a Post Summary?
The most common cause is that the video file is larger than 100 MB, which is currently above the AI summarizer's processing limit. The Post Summary field will show an error inline explaining why. If the video is under 100 MB and you still don't see a summary, contact Archive Support.
Can I edit or regenerate a Post Summary?
No. Summaries are generated automatically and cannot be manually edited or re-triggered. You can flag inaccurate summaries with thumbs-down feedback to help improve the model.
Can I filter or search content by Post Summary text?
Not currently. Post Summary text is visible in the UGC modal and CSV exports but is not yet a filterable field.
Are Post Summaries included in CSV exports?
Yes. Post Summaries appear as a column in CSV exports from Content View, Saved Views, and Collections.
