Error: "No Instagram Business Accounts Found"

Written by Kylie Decipeda

What this error means

When Archive shows "No Instagram Business accounts found" during connection, it means Archive scanned the Facebook Pages connected to your account and couldn't find an Instagram Business or Creator account linked to any of them.

This usually comes down to one of two things:

  1. Your Instagram account is still a Personal account (not a Professional one)

  2. Your Instagram account is already a Professional account but isn't linked to a Facebook Page

Both are fixable in a few minutes.

Step 1: Make sure your Instagram account is a Professional account

Archive requires an Instagram Business or Creator account. Personal accounts won't show up during connection, no matter how the rest of your setup is configured.

To check and switch:

  1. Open Instagram and go to your profile

  2. Tap the hamburger menu (top right)

  3. Tap Account type and tools

  4. If you see Switch to Professional account, tap it and follow the prompts

  5. Choose Business or Creator -- either works with Archive

If you already see options like "Switch to Personal account," you're already on a Professional account. Move to Step 2.

Step 2: Link your Instagram account to a Facebook Page

Even if your Instagram is a Professional account, Archive can't detect it unless it's connected to a Facebook Page.

On mobile:

  1. Go to your Instagram profile and tap Edit profile

  2. Under the public business information section, tap Page

  3. Tap Connect or Create

  4. Tap Continue, then Login to Facebook

  5. Select the Facebook Page you want to connect (or create a new one)

  6. Tap Connect

On desktop (via Facebook):

  1. Log in to Facebook and go to your Page

  2. Click Settings from the left menu

  3. Scroll to Linked accounts and click it

  4. Click View next to Instagram

  5. Click Connect account and follow the login prompts

Step 3: Reconnect in Archive

Once your Instagram account is a Professional account and linked to a Facebook Page:

  1. Go back to Archive and click Reconnect on the connection screen

  2. Log in with the Facebook account that has admin access to that Page

  3. Click on Edit Settings until you reach the part where you have to choose your Instagram account. Your Instagram account should now appear and be selectable.

  4. Select your Instagram account and proceed with the connection process.

Still seeing the error?

A few things to double-check:

  • The Facebook account you're logging in with needs admin or full control access to the Page linked to your Instagram. If someone else owns the Page, they'll need to grant you access via Meta Business Suite first.

  • If you just completed the linking steps, wait a minute and try reconnecting—Meta can take a moment to sync the changes.

  • Make sure you're linking to the same Facebook Page that comes up during the Archive connection flow. If multiple Pages exist on your account, it's easy to link Instagram to the wrong one.
