When a brand reshares a creator's content on its own account — for example, an ambassador mission where creators post Stories tagging the brand and the brand reposts on its own Story — Archive treats the original post and the repost as two separate records. This article explains what is captured, what is not, and the workarounds available for tracking participation across both.
Default Behavior
Out of the box, Archive captures the original creator post through your tracked hashtags and mentions. That record is attributed to the creator who posted it.
A repost on the brand's own account is not captured automatically. It belongs to the brand's own social profile, which is not pulled into Archive by default.
Three Ways a Brand and Creator Can Share Content
"A brand sharing a creator's content" can mean a few different things. Archive treats each one differently:
Scenario | What it looks like | How Archive captures it |
Collaboration
| A single post on the platform shows both the creator and the brand as authors, sharing audience and engagement. | Captured automatically as a single record with two authorships. No extra setup needed beyond the creator being tracked. |
Story reshare
| The brand reshares a creator's Story to its own Story (and vice versa). | Captured if either: (a) the original Story @mentions your connected Instagram account, or (b) the creator is tracked as a Social Profile in All Content mode. |
Feed/Reel repost
| The brand reposts the creator's video or photo as a new post on its own account. | Not captured by default. The brand's own profile must be added as a source in All Content mode (see below). The repost is stored as a separate record from the original creator post. |
The rest of this article focuses on the third scenario — capturing reposts on the brand's own account. For collaboration posts and Story reshares, no additional setup is needed beyond what's described above.
Capturing the Brand's Reposts
To capture content that your brand publishes on its own account — including reposts of creator content — add the brand's social profile as a source in All Content mode. Once added, Archive will pull every post from that profile, regardless of mentions or hashtags.
Go to the Social Profiles page.
Click the three-dot menu and choose Add & Bulk Label > Quick Add.
Enter your brand's Instagram or TikTok handle.
Select All Content as the monitoring type.
Click on Add to confirm.
📋 Note: All Content mode is not available by default on every plan. If the option is greyed out or missing, contact Archive Support to check availability for your account.
The Original Post and the Repost Are Not Linked
When both records exist in your workspace, they remain separate:
The original creator post is attributed to the creator.
The repost on the brand's account is attributed to the brand.
There is no automatic link between the two. Reporting and filters will not group them together based on visual similarity or shared origin. Engagement metrics on the brand's repost are tracked independently from the original.
Common Questions
Will Archive automatically connect a creator's post to the brand's repost?
No. The two records are stored independently and are not linked by default. Use a campaign-specific hashtag, a campaign that includes both sides, or a Magic Field to surface them together.
Can I see engagement metrics on the brand's repost?
Yes, if the brand's profile is added as a source in All Content mode. Metrics on the repost are tracked separately from the original.
Does All Content mode count toward my monthly UGC limit?
Yes. Every post captured by Archive — including content from a brand's own profile in All Content mode — counts toward your workspace's monthly UGC total.
