If you notice that some posts from your connected Instagram or TikTok accounts aren't showing up in Archive, this is usually because of how content capture actually works for private accounts and mention/hashtag detection, not a platform-wide restriction. Instagram Content Visibility
What's happening: Instagram content is only captured under specific conditions, not blanket monitoring. The most common reasons content doesn't appear:
Private accounts: From a private Instagram account, Archive can only capture Stories, and only when: you follow that account, the creator @mentions your brand in the Story, and that mention triggers a DM to your connected account. All three conditions have to be true. Feed posts and Reels from private accounts can't be captured at all, regardless of following.
Stories without a DM trigger: even from public accounts, a Story mention only counts if it generates a DM. A mention that shows up in "Stories About You" without triggering a DM won't be captured.
Reels mentioned only in comments: Reels are detected by @mention in the post or caption — mentions in the comments section don't count.
How to verify:
Check whether the account is private, and if so, whether you follow it — private Story capture requires all three conditions above.
For Stories, check your Instagram Direct Messages — if no DM was generated, Archive won't have captured it.
If a creator's content still isn't appearing and you need reliable capture, add them directly as a source instead of relying on mentions.
TikTok Content Visibility
What's happening: TikTok content is captured by @mention or by tracked hashtag — these are independent detection methods, not different "versions" of the integration. The most common reason content doesn't appear:
Private accounts require mutual following. Archive can only capture from a private TikTok account when the account follows you and you follow them back. Following them isn't enough on its own if they don't follow you too.
Coverage gaps: hashtag and mention detection are both high-coverage but not 100% — platform-side gaps mean some matching videos can be missed by either method.
How to verify:
If the account is private, confirm the follow is mutual (they follow you and you follow them).
For reliable capture regardless of mentions or hashtags, add the creator directly as a source.
