Spark Ads lets you leverage organic TikTok posts and their features in your advertising. We have launched a feature that allows you to request TikTok Spark Codes from your Social Profiles with a few simple clicks.
How to Request TikTok Spark Codes
On your Content page, choose the TikTok video for which you want to generate a TikTok spark code.
Click on "Request Spark Ads Code".
A window will pop out, asking you to check the message you're sending to your Social Profile.
(OPTIONAL) A default message from Archive was generated for you. If you want to edit it, click on the message field. You can also save the message so you won't have to manually update each message every time.
Set "Spark Ads Code Duration".
Click "Submit a Request".

Handling Expired or Invalid TikTok Spark Codes
If you are running TikTok Spark Ads, you may occasionally encounter an "Expired" or "Invalid" error when trying to add a Spark Code into TikTok Ads Manager. This typically occurs because the authorization period set by the creator has lapsed.
What the "Expired" Error Means
A TikTok Spark Code is a temporary authorization. When a creator generates a code, they choose a duration (7, 30, 60, or 365 days). Once this window closes:
The code becomes inactive in TikTok Ads Manager.
Any active ads using that code will stop running.
The code cannot be "reactivated"βa brand new code must be generated.
How to Fix an Expired Spark Code
To resolve this, you must reset the request in Archive so the creator can submit a fresh code.
Remove the Old Request: Navigate to your Manage Rights table. Find the content with the expired code and delete or remove the existing Usage Rights request.
Note: Removing the request from your Archive dashboard does not delete the message history in your Instagram/TikTok DMs.
Send a New Request: Go back to the Content page, select the post, and click Request Spark Ads Code again.
Set a Longer Duration: In the request pop-up, ensure you select a longer duration (we recommend 365 days) to prevent future interruptions.
Creator Action: The creator will receive the new request. They must go into their TikTok App, generate a new code with the updated duration, and submit it through the Archive link.
Best Practices to Avoid Expiration
To ensure your campaigns run smoothly without manual renewals, follow these guidelines:
Go Big Upfront: Always encourage creators to set the authorization to 365 days during the initial request. This provides maximum flexibility for your ad testing and scaling.
Proactive Extension: Creators can extend the duration of a Spark Code before it expires.
How: In TikTok, they can go to Ad Settings > Manage and select a new duration.
Important: If the code has already expired, this extension option is no longer available, and a fresh code must be generated using the "How to Fix" steps above.
